Improved Student and Staff Use Of Information Technology:
  • Purchasing of appropriate hardware and software to support teaching and learning in the areas of literacy and numeracy

  • Participation in the iShine Celebration during 2002, 2003, 2004 where students were trained in scripting, directing, editing and acting in a three minute video performance

  • Staff development workshops were implemented after school one day each week to train staff in the use of school technology

  • Increased demand by staff and students for access to ICT including use of computer software, digital cameras and digital video cameras

  • Development and trial of video and DVD based student reports and portfolios in 2003 and 2004
Improved Literacy and Communication Skills:
  • Purchase of appropriate support materials to complement individual learning programs

  • Purchase of cause and effect software for students with high support needs

  • 75% of students increased their word attack skills and level of confidence in reading through the use of reading resources such as Writing With Symbols 2000

  • Staff were inserviced in Count-Me-In-Too and developed resources appropriate to the needs of individual students

Expand Leisure Opportunities In PD, Health and PE For Students With High Support Needs:
  • Purchase of accessible cycling equipment

  • Participation in Sailability and the Australian Access Sailing Championships

  • Increased level of parent and community interest in the cycling and sailing programs

  • Students access a number of community based activities including horse riding, Ten Pin Bowling, bushwalking, cycling, composting
